It’s been almost a month since our days in Copenhagen, and I’m already feeling nostalgic for the magic of August in this city. To relive those moments—and to help you plan your next trip—I’ve put together a guide that captures the essence of our time there.
Copenhagen effortlessly combines many of my favorite things: incredible cuisine, the joy of cycling through charming streets, an abundance of stylish locals, and a vibrant art and design scene.
Join me as I take you through all my favorite spots in this captivating city.
WHERE TO EAT
Noma ($$)
The list of restaurants and bars in Copenhagen feels endless. On this trip, we enjoyed a light lunch salad at Beau Marché (don’t miss their charming shop next door), warmed up with a steaming bowl of noodles at Cholon after a sudden summer rain, and savored fish burgers and Aperol spritzes at La Banchina while watching the sunset, soaking in its vibrant atmosphere.
COFFEE SPOTS
There’s nothing quite like kicking off the day with a coffee and bun at Hart, followed by a leisurely bike ride to Lille Bakery. Or, if you’re in the mood for something quick and good, grab a matcha to go from the beautiful La Cabra.
CULTURE
We decided to extend our stay, and one of the highlights was a visit to the Louisiana Museum. Just a short train ride from the city, this museum has quickly become one of my new favorites. The place exudes a unique, special energy. You can even bring a picnic and your swimsuit to spend the day—enjoying the art collection, appreciating the Danish modern architecture, and taking a refreshing dip in the sea.
WHERE TO SHOP
If you’re searching for curated souvenirs, this list of exquisite shops in the city is your ultimate guide.
Discover stunning home decor at Hvornum, FRAMA, HAY, and Tadaima.
For long-lasting fabrics, check out Tekla, and find timeless jewelry at Lie.
Don’t miss Bintagged, a vintage clothing store run by dear friends of mine, offering the best selection of archive designer pieces.
WHERE TO STAY
Without a doubt, Copenhagen holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve promised myself to return every summer.
